- Sue Review added: 2018.07.30★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆The owner of this establishment has just described me as being " petty" for wanting a fireplace installed correctly ! Apparently it has never been " suggested " to him that he completes a job to a decent standard .
Maybe after reading the list of their incompetence he might think of putting his customers first.
1.First visit - all measurements taken and style etc agreed
2. Second visit - day of installation. Existing fireplace removed but incorrect size hearth measurement taken so wrong size supplied , job couldn't be completed.
3. Third visit - fire place installed. Looked good, but on closer inspection so many faults. The top surround was 2" short in depth and the flue of the fire was visible.Definitely not as ordered. Once again incorrect measuring .Holes/gaps left all around the inner hearth and the side panels left with holes/gaps in the fixings- photos of all taken.
4 The owner visited. Couldn't see anything wrong,( ????) but agreed to fix the faults.
5. Fourth visit - new top surround fitted to correct depth to cover flue. Side panels cut down by 2". Job completed -- not !!!! Now the two side panels are of different widths and there is a new " tolerance" ( owner's word ) where the top surround doesn't quite fit the fire surround. This wasn't there on the first installation, and it was now suggested by the owner that the wall was no longer straight .
6. Fifth visit -after phone call to the company and photos sent so he can see the standard of work. He thinks I am being " petty" for wanting these faults rectified.
Work is now completed.
Any apology for their mistakes or workmanship has not been received.
In my opinion , Customer service is not something that Flames Of Lincoln understand. They were very happy to take my full payment ,but were very reticent in their approach to sorting the problems that
they caused.
